This silvered metal tray was created as a souvenir of the Centenary of Melbourne, 1935. It features images of the Melbourne Town Hall, Manchester Unity Building, and Captain Cook's Cottage which was relocated to Victoria to commemorate the state's centenary.
Physical Description
A round, silvered metal tray with a flat base and fluted border. Engraved with the Victorian coat of arms in a shield shape at the top. There is a scroll across the centre on each side, the left has the figures 1835 and on the right 1935. Inside the circle is an engraving of Cook's Cottage. To the left and right are acacia leaves and flowers, and across the central part are two buildings: the Manchester Unity Building and the Melbourne Town Hall. The underside of the tray is plain.
