Summary

Wooden cribbage board, made circa 1930-1939 by 'Gam. Aust'. The donor reports that the cribbage board was used by her family when she was a teenager in Victoria in the 1930s.

Cribbage was an alternative to 'straight cards'.

Physical Description

Wooden rectangular cribbage board, with dark and light woods inlaid in a pattern of squares and rectangles. There are three rows of holes, 60 on each long side, and 26 in the centre row. Made of four layers of light and dark wood glued together. Small metal piece nailed to one end covers two holes in the body of the board where the cribbage pieces may have been stored.
