Summary
Alternative Name(s): Tea Pot
Ceramic teapot and lid in the form of a cottage with a thatched roof. The teapot belonged to the donor's mother who collected it as part of a large interes in nick-nacks and ornaments. The donor acquired it from her mother in the 1950s-60s.
Physical Description
Ceramic teapot and lid in the form of a cottage with a sloping thatched roof. The pot is mainly light brown with darker brown handle and spout. The front of the teapot (ie. spout on the left, handle right) has a grey-blue door centre with flowers either side. The spout is designed to look like a tree trunk covered with ivy; the handle also looks like a tree trunk bent over, its branches extending across the roof of the cottage. The lid forms the top part of the cottage's roof. This roof is thatched and has an attic window over the door. At the top centre of the roof is a blue-grey chimney with brick design; this acts as a handle for the lid. There is a large metal staple on the left corner of the lid.
