Summary

A ceramic shard found under floorboards of one of the oldest buildings (1880s) at Caloola Training Centre, Sunbury, Victoria, Australia. It was a psychiatric hospital. Crockery of this type would have been used by staff rather than the patients.

Physical Description

Ceramic shard with blue and pale blue Chinese flower glaze. Bottom has very pale blue glze and raised rim on which the plate would have stood. Cross section of white ceramic. Part of a plate or dish.
