Summary
Drug Distaval, trade name for Thalidomide, manufactured by The Distillers Company (Biochemicals) Ltd, circa 1960. It was used as a sedative/hypnotic at a mental health hospital in Victoria, Australia. It was later withdrawn from the British market in 1961 when it was found to be responsible for generating congenital abnormalities in the fetuses of pregnant women.
Physical Description
Drug Distaval (Thalidomide) is in small white pills, contained in a small aluminium canister with screw top, which is in a blue and black cardboard box.
