Summary
Gold pacifier or dummy, in the shape of a squirrel, attached to a bar brooch via a chain made by G. and E. Rodd & Co. of Melbourne, circa 1950s. The brooch can be pinned to the baby's clothing, so should the pacifier be thrown away, spat out, or fall out of the baby's mouth, it can be easily retrieved. It is made from 9ct gold and is designed to look expensive without stretching a new family's budget, although it could also have been given as a gift for a new baby or christening.
A new latex dummy teat has been added to the pacifier.
Physical Description
9ct gold pacifier in the shape of a squirrel with a latex dummy teat connected to the bottom of the squirrel which makes it seem as if the squirrel is sitting upon the pacifier. At the top of the squirrel's head is a chain that is connected to a simple bar brooch.
