Summary
9 carat gold thimble made circa 1914. The thimble carries the maker's mark for Charles R. Forster of Melbourne. It is is joined by that of G.H. Palfrey of Melbourne and it is assumed that Palfrey was the purveyor.
The thimble also carries a later presentation engraving suggesting this may possibly have been a family heirloom.
A "7" also appears on the piece and this may indicate the thimble size.
