Summary

Scout's signalling mirror, used around 1943. It was found in the effects of the donor's father, Owen Hughes (1897-1965), although may have belonged to a brother as it is initialled 'B.J.H.'. Before his marriage Owen Hughes lived in Northcote.

Physical Description

Rectangular shiny heavy metal, mirrored surface on both sides, contained in a cardboard but leather-look slip case. The case is embossed in gold with the Scout logo, the initials "B.J.H." and the date, October 1943. There is a small hole at the top of the piece of metal, to enable it to be gripped easily when removed from the case. .1 metal mirror .2 cardboard case
