Summary

Pair of hand-made wooden 'bush' crutches made from split saplings, possibly 1920-1930. They may be an example of Australian 'making-do' in a time of the Great Depression or the years after World War I.

The crutches were purchased from a dealer who dealt in Australian bush furniture and other examples of Australiana. They have no further provenance.
