Summary
Shield awarded to winner of Mental Hospital Patients Football Association competition. Used: Sunbury, Victoria, Australia, circa 1964 - 1965. Football was one of the activities offered to Victorian psychiatric hospital patients and staff.
Physical Description
Brown wooden sports shield, irregular shape. Dull grey metal plaque has been screwed and glued to centre. This features relief images of two men playing football on field. Above and below plaque are two further grey metal plaques, screwed and glued to the shield. Down each edge of shield are six small plaques. Only the top two at u.l. have been engraved. Silver plating flaking from the edges of these twelve plaques. Shield is hung from grey metal hanger screwed to top of reverse side.
