Summary
Wooden ballot box, circa 1900s-1930s. Wooden ballot boxes were phased out in favour of metal ones sometime before the 1970s, then plastic was experimented with before the electoral authorities moved onto cardboard in the mid 1980s. The 'C of A' on the front of the box dates it to the early 20th Century, it is believed that state electoral authorities shared electoral equipment at this time. The ballot box suggests the activity of voting and the possibilities voters have to influence the political direction of the nation.
