Summary

Florover 'Automatic Spin' floor polisher, manually operated, most recently used circa 1984-1986. Purchased by donor, possibly in the early 1980s, as part of a private collection.

A Florover model with a triangular head for corners was advertised in the Western Mail (Perth), 2 July 1953, p.15. 953, July 2), where the text explained that 'Now on the market for the first time we have an article that APPLIES POLISH to all floors, obtaining a higher gloss than ever before without the slightest effort while saving your hands and knees. No housewife should be without a non electric "Florover" outfit complete with special polishing mop obtainable now in unbreakable mottled green and maroon plastic.'.
Florover manual floor polishers were advertised in Australian newspapers between 1953 and 1964.

A Florover Sales &? Service shop was located in East Cannington, Western Australia, circa 1958, but it has not been confirmed if this is where this particular floor polisher was acquired from.

In 1970, a 'Florover Roller Seal' was advertised amongst a range of Raven weather strips and seals, indicating a connection between those products (Canberra Times, 7 Aug 1970, p.9).
