Part of a gaslight fitting circa 1890 used in a mental health hospital in Victoria Australia
Physical Description
Fitting consisting of a small metal pipe leading to an urn-shaped outlet which contains a fixed valve. There is a screw on the bottom of the "urn". Beyond this the pipe tapers to half its diameter, ending in a cup shape, out of which protrudes downwards a tiny, bell-shaped pipe with thread on the end. The thicker pipe is iron and the section from the outlet onward is brass.
