Physical Description

Pharmacy scales in wooden case with glass sides and top with upward sliding glass door on front. Scales have tubular brass pillar with fixed black-plated horizontal bar which holds 6 vertical bullet-shaped brass screws. Intricately shaped aluminium crossbar sits on block in centre of fixed horizontal, balanced by screws. Can be raised clear by turning button at bottom front of case, which operates lever to raise block.
