Poker - Fire, Iron, Circa 1930. Used at mental health hospital Mayday Hills, Beechworth, Victoria, Australia. Probably made in the blacksmith's shop at the Hospital. Wards in the Hospital were heated by open fires.

Physical Description

Forged iron fire poker, bent at one end to form a handle and tapering to a point at the other. Length of iron is twisted irregularly at centre. Metal has a blackened finish.
