Summary
Cushion cover, made by Luigia Rosa (nee Longhini) for display at the Italian Historical Society. Luigia was born in 1911 in the district of Altopiano di Asiago, Vicenza, Veneto region. She migrated to Australia in 1953 with her two young boys to join her husband Silvio. They settled in Carlton and later purchased a house at 145 Palmerston Street, Carlton where they lived until both died.
Physical Description
Square black cushion cover, with purple zip and a boarder of white and red woollen thread angled running stitch. On top is a flower design (with five petals) in red, lilac, pink, yellow, brown, white, green and purple. It has been created using woollen thread that has been sewn into the fabric then cut creating a raised effect.
