Summary
Tool used for the making of terrazzo. Used by an Italian migrant, who was involved in the terrazzo trade in Australia. Terrazzo is a technique where marble chips and other fine aggregates are exposed in a concrete (originally clay) surface, the surface is polished and sealed preserving the wet and marble-like look.
Physical Description
Tool consists of two rounded lengths of wood, one long and one short, both narrow at one end, they are joined by a metal bolt. A rectangular piece of grey pumice stone is held between the two pieces of wood. A box of coloured chalk accompanies the tool.
