Book of knitting patterns, published by Patons and Baldwins Ltd, 84-94 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, during World War II, circa 1939-1945. It contains 'instructions for articles carefully chosen to meet the requirements of the Army, Navy and Air Force. Many of the articles are suitable for distribution by the Red Cross and Comfort Funds.'

Part of a collection of knitting patterns (numbered SH 90.545 to 90.572.2) accumulated by the donor's mother, Effie Laura Harvie and kept in a Kayser Lingerie box (SH 90.573.2). The donor's mother, who used the patterns, knitted until about 1975.

Book contains knitting patterns for men's and women's socks, stockings, gloves, scarves as well as children's socks, gloves, crocheted bed socks and a knitted hot water-bottle cover. Price: sixpence.
