Summary

Semi-circular, metal floor indicator for a lift (elevator). The face is a metal semi-circular frame painted with black enamel with a bar across the base. Brass numbers are bolted along a gap in the sem-circle frame. In the centre of the base bar is a brass ornamental arrow. The mechanism moving the arrow is a thick cylindrical bolt which would have been attached to the top of the ouside of the lift. Donated to the Museum by Myles Whelan after his scrap metal merchant company, Whelan the Wrecker, went into receivership in 1991. The building that the indicator came from is unknown.
