Cream dress with red stripe made circa 1920. Worn by patients in mental health hospitals in Victoria, Australia, circa 1920. This dress may have been made at the hospital and is possibly not fully finished. It has locked fastenings at back.
Physical Description
Dress made from thick calico material with broadly-spaced vertical red stripes. Dress is straight but very wide, has high waistband and darts for shape. Re-inforced round neck and has a 3/4 length unfastened opening down the centre back. Dress has long sleeves.
