Dress designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L in 1969.
Originally worn with a matching coat (SH 942013) and dress (SH 942014), also in the Museum's collection.
Worn by donor at the launch of her cosmetics company in 1969 and to Derby Day the same year, The donor was photographed wearing this outfit for a story of the factory opening in the Chadstone Progress newspaper, dated 5th November 1969.
It was also worn by a model for the Prue Acton 25th Anniversary Parade in 1988.
In 2005, it was loaned to a fashion parade at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre to launch the Australia Post Legends series that year, featuring six Australian fashion designers, including Prue Acton.
Physical Description
White knitted acrylic long-sleeved polo-necked jumper. Masking tape '1969' in red ink was removed from inside back of garment (see Provenance).
