Summary
Rose taffetta evening dress, designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L in 1980.
A similar garment was part of the costumes worn by American actress Barbara Parkins in the Australian film ' Breakfast in Paris', released in 1981. Unfortunately during filming the original dress caused problems because of the rustling noise of the skirt was picked up in sound recording. Parkins, who played the leading female role, loved the clothes and asked to keep them for herself to "show off around the world".
A masking tape label was removed from back of inside bodice '1980'DATE TO BE PHONED THROUGH/FROM PRUE' indicating garment used in her 25th Anniversary Parade in 1988.
Physical Description
