Summary
This belt was commissioned by Prue Acton from her cousin Pam Vary, who had studied at RMIT and made belts and other leather products. She was related to the owners of Vary Brothers Tannery.
There are two photo of the donor wearing the belt at Flemington (probably the 1969 Melbourne Cup) in the Supplementary File.
Physical Description
Belt of hessian decorated with leather strips, metal studs and holes ringed with metal. Large metal buckle and small purse attached at one end. Bullet holder chest strap runs diagonally across one shoulder.
