This handbag was designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L in 1983, by company designer Maree Menzel. It was worn by the donor with the `Titanium' ensemble (SH 942104) to the 1983 Melbourne Cup.
Prue Acton's Melbourne Cup clothing was specially designed for her to draw attention to Australian designers and in particular her forthcoming winter range.
Physical Description
Ladies handbag with shoulder strap. Purple/bronze painted leather folded into a triangular shape. Allover decorative stitching and a piece of titanium at one corner. Fastens with a zip. Embroidered red flower sewn inside.
