Summary
This handbag was made in Italy specifically for the department store Saks of Fifth Avenue in New York. The donor purchased it from here in the early 1960s, and was used by the donor both in Australia and overseas until 1990. She used it when she went to the Bicentennial Wool Collection fashion parade in 1988.
Physical Description
.1 Decorative bronze coloured metal handbag in the form of a cat. Thought to be the image of an ancient Egyptian Cat God. The metal is etched with flower-like images. The ears have been bent downwards. The eyes are small blue beads and 7 orange beads decorate an etched collar. .2 Bottom of cat bag. The cat's body comes apart to form a storage utensil.
