Hat in navy and white gros-grain, the navy decorated with white stitched lines and vice versa. . Designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L in 1984. It was worn by the donor with the 'Concorde' ensemble (SH 942111) to the 1984 Melbourne Cup.
Prue Acton's Melbourne Cup clothing was specially designed for her to draw attention to Australian designers and in particular her forthcoming winter range.
Physical Description
Hat in navy and white gros-grain, the navy decorated with white stitched lines and vice versa. Hat sits close to the head, the brim turned up and forming a peak at the side. Lined in white polyester. A white bobby-pin is sewn inside.
