Physical Description

The shoe is high heeled with a geometric designed peep toe. Although grain structure is not visible, the texture and handle of the shoe would suggest leather as the primary material. This is consistent with the inscription stamped into the sole of the shoe, which reads LEATHER LEDER CUIR MADE IN FRANCE. The overall colour of the shoe is yellow however the internal lining is pale yellow. The sole of the shoe is predominantly black but patterns of wear reveal the original unpainted leather surface. There is also a metal clip embedded into the tip of the sole, near the toe area. There are two accession numbers on the sole of the shoe: one handwritten in white ink, 94.2121.1; and the other a paper label with printed lettering and numbers, BH 8128. There is also an inscription printed on the internal lining of the shoe, and reads as follows: CHARLES JOURDAN Paris MADE IN FRANCE LEATHER UPPER AND LINING LEATHER SOLE Another printed black ink inscription with lettering and numbers is located on the internal surface of the heel, and reads as follows: 4IX 71/2 B 386399 MA.
