Mounted photocopy of a letter from U.S. President Bill Clinton, dated 2 April 1997, to Mr and Mrs Boris Schwarz thanking them for their message of support.

Jakas Soft Toys was a Melbourne-based company which designed and manufactured genuine high quality soft toys from 1956. Their designs included a range of teddy bears, golliwogs, animals and birds. Jakas Soft Toys ceased production in December 1998 outlasting many local toy manufacturers competing with cheaper overseas imports.

Boris and Pam Schwarz were the owners of Jakas Soft Toys from February 1994 until the company's closure in December 1998.

Physical Description

Colour photocopy of a letter from U.S. President Bill Clinton to Mr and Mrs Boris Schwarz mounted on large sheet of card. The letter is typed on light blue paper with 'The White House' letterhead and hand signed 'Bill Clinton'. Underneath the letter there is a colour photocopy of a photograph of two 'flag' bears, one with an Australian and American flag on the underside of its lower pads and the other with an Australian and Japanese flag on the underside of its lower pads. There is a gold border around the mounted photocopy with another thin black border around the outside of the gold border.
