Summary
Gold licence printed by John Ferres, at the Government Printing Office, circa 1853.
The gold license bearer was one [illeg] Collins, who was licensed to dig for gold during the month January 1853. He was licensed to dig within the Loddon district, "not within half an mile of any head-station."
The object, which had at one stage been framed for display, was found in a storage area underneath the stairs in McCoy Hall.
It was registered as part of the History of the Museum collection.
Physical Description
A piece of white paper with a large motif in the u.c. in black print depicting a crowned lion and a unicorn with a shield separating them. The gold license has extensive text.
