Summary
This hair clip was designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Marcos Davidson in 1989. It was worn by the donor with the `Green the World' ensemble (still in the donor's collection) to the 1989 Melbourne Cup.
Prue Acton's Melbourne Cup clothing was specially designed for her to draw attention to Australian designers and in particular her forthcoming winter range.
Physical Description
Metal hair clip consisting of a bronze coloured narrow bar with seven medallion- shaped pieces attached. Each medallion has the 'Green the World' symbol of an unfurling fern frond and the jeweller's hallmarks. On the inner side there clip with a safety catch.
