Summary
Set of Stewart Shearmaster electric shears manufactured by Sunbeam, circa 1986. They were used in the mat making workshop at the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind from about 1986 to 1992 when it closed. The shears were used by visually impaired workers to trim the top of mat pile. Prior to 1986 hand shears, rather than electric were used.
Physical Description
Black handle from base of which extends black electric cord. Grey steel head with holes for inserting oil and detachable blades with curved prongs on wide comb.
