Summary
This mop was made by Luigia Rosa, from rags, for display at the Italian Historical Society. Luigia was born in 1911 in the district of Altopiano di Asiago, Vicenza, Veneto region. She and her two young boys joined her husband, Silvio, in Australia 1953. They settled in Carlton and later purchased a house in Palmerston Street, Carlton where they lived until both died.
Physical Description
Mop with long wooden handle. The head is made up of strips of fabric in a variety of colours including: grey, yellow, dark green, white, brown, lime green, pink, light blue, peach, black, blue and white stripped, pale pink and white stripped, string and hot pink, it is attached to the handle with a metal holder.
