Other Details: This large Australian International Coin Fair medal also commemorated the 175 anniversary of the issue of the Holey Dollar in 1813. It was struck by the Royal Australian Mint for sale at the Fair and stored in a red box. It was struck with mirror-proof fields and matt relief.

Physical Description

A large (63 mm. dia, 5 ozs) sterling silver medal struck with mirror-proof fields and matt relief featuring and commemorating the 175 anniversary of the Holey Dollar in 1813 and, on the reverse, a theme of Australian fauna in and around a gum tree featuring - kangaroo, emu, platypus, wombat, koala and sulphur-crested cockatoo.

Reverse Description

A theme of Australian fauna in and around a gum tree featuring - kangaroo, emu, platypus, wombat, koala and sulphur-crested cockatoo; all matt against a mirror-proof field.
