Physical Description

A medal produced by engraving a silver disk mounted in silver frame with attached loop and ring attached to the edge at 12 with long purple ribbon with two decorative bars, the top with long pin. (46 mm diameter maximum height with ribbon extended 164 mm). The obverse has a central silver design featuring two wheat sheaves and a plough attached at the centre.

Engraved : BALLAARAT AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY around two wheat sheaves behind a plough.

Reverse Description

Engraved: THIS MEDAL WAS AWARDED / as a / FIRST PRIZE / For Ploughing / TO / Mr. William Ross Junr. / after having been won by him / at two consecutive Ploughing / Matches of this Society. / June 12th 1872
