Hand made marionette depicting the historic figure Queen Bess (based on Queen Elizabeth I.) It was manufactured and operated in Melbourne by Alex and Murray Smith, who performed as part of Le Forgeron Marionettes from 1930 until 1956.
Physical Description
Marionette depicting an Elizabethan Queen. She is wearing embroidered robes and has a crown on her head. She has movable arms and legs. There are operating strings attached to numerous parts of her, including her head, limps and shoulders. The feet have been weighted.
