Summary
Engraved portrait of Captain James Cook, hand-coloured. Identified by appearance rather than inscription, which is absent. It is likely to date to the 19th century.
The artist is not identified on the portrait. It is similar to an engraving identified as by H.B. Halls (Henry Bryan Halls) & Sons after artist William McLeod (1850-1929). Note also the engraving of Cook by Edward Scriven (1775-1841) after the oil portrait by Nathaniel Dance.
