Physical Description

Round dial set in black rectangular wooden case with gold foliage transfer to give oriental look. The movement is mounted on the back panel in two parts. The upper brass movement has attached to it a cast iron section with two springs and a type of fusee. This represents an early American attempt to equalize the power of the spring in imitation of the English fusee. Spring wound; anchor escapement.
