Made by Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co, Hartford, Connecticut. Serial number 31904, 1883.
Used at the Australian Army's School of Infantry, Seymour, Victoria.
Physical Description
ix chambered long fluted cylinder, locking notches on rear cylinder face rather than outer surface, solid steel frame with light case hardening colours still visible, steel rounded trigger guard with good original blueing, steel back strap, two-piece chequered wooden grips. Blade front sight, loading gate on right hand side. Serial number suggests a production year of 1882. Two-line Colt address stamped on barrel. British proofmarks stamped on cylinder and under barrel at cylinder end. Missing left hand backstrap screw into frame and central lock ensembly screw on left hand side. Good original blueing on barrel with light corrosion.
