Percussion pocket pistol, cal. 39 bore (.493). Pistol supposed to have been converted from flintlock.
Made by James Burnie, Berwick, circa 1820 (active 1810-1828).
Physical Description
Screw off, smooth bore barrel 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.) long, overall length 6 1/4 in. (159 mm.) Box lock with central hammer & sliding safety bolt. Oval steel trigger guard, flat curved in wooden butt. Lock box engraved with flags.
