Single barrelled shotgun, 12 gauge .750. Twist steel barrel 31 3/4 in. (807 mm) long. Percussion.
Made by Samuel Nock, London, serial number 6661, circa 1830.
Physical Description
Gold breech band, beautifully browned, rib under barrel, brass tipped wooden ramrod. Side bar lock, patent pierced screw plug in vent under nipple, brass blade foresight. Walnut half stock tipped with horn, chequered at grip, silver monogram plate. mounts finely engraved with foliate scrolls and lock plate with hunting dogs and a heath grouse, trigger guard and butt tang with figure of shooter.
