Percussion pocket pistol, cal. 55 bore (.437). Supposed to have been converted from flintlock.
Made by William Caton & Co., Preston, circa 1830.
Physical Description
Screw off, smooth bore barrel 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.) long, overall length 6 1/4 in. (159 mm.). Box lock with central hammer & sliding safety bolt, oval steel trigger guard, flat wooden butt.
