Summary
Flintlock holster pistol, cal. 19 bore (.625), smooth bore, swamped round barrel, 29.70cm long with foliate engraving at breech end and similar motif towards muzzle.
Middle eastern, probably Arabian, early 18th century.
Physical Description
Barrel attached to stock by two fixing pins. Steel side lock and hammer on R.H.side with decorative engraving, brass triggerguard with finial extension, brass side plate, octaoganally pointed decorated brass butt cap with long spurs, embossed silver escutcheon inlaid into back of stock. Wooden stock extends almost to muzzle and decoratively carved around barrel tang and inlaid with silver wire, wooden ramrod.
