Percussion pepperbox revolver, cal. .390 in., six barrelled, steel, 8.60 long.
Made by James Rock Cooper, Birmingham (active c.1840-1853), circa 1845.
Physical Description
Barrel slightly loose on spindel. Ring trigger and under-hammer, plain wooden grips secured by a single screw, rounded butt, nickel silver frame, engraved on both sides and down backstrap with foliate scrolls, capping groove on right hand.side of frame. Steel sliding safety catch on frame top with good original blueing.

Engraved on L.H.side frame: WILLIAMS LIVERPOOL/ J.R. COOPERS PATENT Stamped on breech end of barrels with Birmingham proofmarks. Scratched into inside of butt strap with an arrow and an illegible initial.
