Summary
Pocket compass with folding magnifying glass and sovereign case. Used on military service by Lieutenant Frederick Gladstone Wilson, 13the Battalion AIF, 1914-1915.
Lieutenant Wilson enlisted on 18 November 1914, and served in the 13th Battalion AIF. He was killed in action on 26 April 1915 at Gallipoli, aged 24. His brother, Corporal Gilbert Wilson, 2nd Pioneer Battalion, was killed in action in France on 14 November 1916.

Plated oval plates joined by two pins, small compass in domed top.
