This wax model is based on a specimen grown and presented to the museum by Charles Draper of Hazelglen in 1875. The model was made by museum modeler Thomas McMillan in 1875 for the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876.
This apple is a cooking and dessert variety and is harvested in winter. This variety originated by Andrew Clements of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.
