Percussion pistol, cal. 32 bore (.525 in.). Muzzle loading, smooth bore, octagonal twist barrel 8 3/4 in. (223 mm) long, U notch backsight, blade mounted foresight, overall length 13 7/8 in. (352 mm).
Made by A. Wilson, London, circa 1840; probably either Alexander Wilson (active 1805-1829) or Archibald Wilson (active 1834-50).
Physical Description
Side lock & hammer, oval steel trigger guard with ornamental forward extension. Wooden stock with horn tip extends halfway along barrel, chequered grip, silver monogram plate, wooden ramrod (tip missing) carried in grooved rib under barrel.
