Cased pair of percussion duelling pistols, cal. 11 mm. Made by Tanner & Sohn, Hanover, Germany, circa 1855.

Physical Description

Muzzle loading, rifled (8 grooves), octagonal twist steel barrel 248 mm. long, adjustable v notch backsight, nickel silver blade foresight overall length 393 mm., side lock (back action) & hammer, spur trigger guard, set trigger. Wooden stock extends halfway along barrel, flat steel butt cap, oval silver monogram plate on L. H. side. Mounts engraved with foliate scrolls. Fitted wooden case lined with green baize. Accessories, brass powder measure, key for sight.
