Percussion belt pistol, cal. 53 bore (.445). Muzzle loading, smooth bore, octagonal Damascus barrel 5 inches (122 mm) long.
Made by Thomas Blissett, Liverpool, circa 1850s.
Physical Description
"V" notch backsight, silver nickel bead foresight. Side lock (back action) & hammer nickel silver trigger guard with spur, pineapple forward extension. Wooden stock extends almost to muzzle. Chequered grip with rounded butt, belt hook fitted to left hand side. Swivel ramrod.
