Double barrelled shotgun, 26 gauge .567, converted from flintlock. Side by side twist steel barrels 28 3/16 in. (715 mm) long.
Made by James Wilkinson & Son, London (active 1818-1852), circa 1830.
Physical Description
Two gold breech bands, pierced platinum vent plugs under nipples. Side locks, early hammers, walnut half stock, chequered at grip, brass tipped wooden ramrod, nickel silver foresight, steel mounts nicely engraved.
