Single barrelled shotgun, 17 gauge .650. Twist steel barrel 33 3/4 in. (857 mm) long. Flintlock.
Made by H. W. Mortimer & Co, London, circa 1810. However, Harvey Walkate Mortimer and his son traded normally as H. W. Mortimer & Son, so this may be a later Birmingham-made copy.
Physical Description
Rib and two tail pipes underneath, ramrod missing, gold touch hole and breech band. Walnut half stock tipped with silver, chequered at grip, cheek piece on l. h. side, silver shield monogram plate. Trigger guard with hand hold, nickel silver foresight.
